UPS and Teamsters Reach Handshake Agreements with Chicago Area Local Unions

UPS is pleased that we have reached handshake agreements (Tentative Agreement, or “TA”) with Teamsters Locals 705 and 710. These are balanced agreements that meet the needs of both sides, and should be ratified. The parties have agreed to contract extensions, and we expect ratification by Local 705 and 710 members in January.

Teamsters Ratify UPS Freight Contract

UPS is pleased that the UPS Freight agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamster (IBT) has been ratified. It is an agreement that rewards our employees for their contributions to the success of the company, while enabling UPS to remain competitive. We will resume normal operations and will immediately begin accepting new volume from UPS Freight customers. Our teams began contacting customers immediately after ratification. We thank our customers for their patience and loyalty.

UPS Freight Members Vote On Offer; UPS Begins Notifying Customers

UPS and the Teamsters Freight National Bargaining Committee concluded the current round of discussions on Thursday, October 25. The IBT has conducted two-person committees with each local and a conference call for its members to review changes Thursday, November 1. A union-hall vote, in which employees will go to their local union hall to cast ballots, is expected to take place November 7 - 11. UPS made an offer that rewards our employees with wages and benefits at the top of the industry and compensates them for their contributions to the company’s success.

Teamsters Ratification Update

UPS acknowledges the International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ decision to ratify the Small Package National Master Agreement. We look forward to implementing the ratified Small Package National Master Agreement as soon as remaining local and supplemental agreements are ratified.

Ratification Voting Is Underway

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has mailed eligible Teamster-represented UPS employees instructions to electronically vote on the new National Master Agreements and Supplements. There is a 21-day voting window that concludes on Friday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. ET. Votes are scheduled to be counted the same day at 8:00 p.m. ET.
